The 4th Avenue Theatre, also known as the Lathrop Building, is an icon of Downtown Anchorage. Built in 1941, and completed in 1947, it was a popular spot with people of all ages until the 1980s. Its Arc Deco design stands out compared to the modern buildings that have sprung up around it, however, its charm has earned it a place in the hearts of the Anchorage community. Although it no longer serves as a theatre, it holds warm memories for those who experienced its wonders when it was open. Even for those who missed those days, it's hard not to love the energy it brings into town.
